Jean-Yves Haagen was appointed replacement Non-Executive Director on November 7, 2017. On May 25, 2018, Mr. Haagen was appointed Non-Executive Director with a three year term. Mr. Haagen, Casino’s general counsel since September 2014, is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Centre Européen Universitaire of Nancy where he completed Master’s degrees in both European Community Law and Advanced European Studies. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nancy. He has been an in-house legal counsel for almost 30 years and has held various legal and executive positions in France and overseas in the industry/engineering sector (Areva and Thales) and more recently in the international soft commodities trading sector (Louis Dreyfus Commodities BV).
Mr. Thomas Metivier is a graduate of École Polytechnique and an Engineer of France’s Corps des Mines, Mr. Metivier held, between 2012 and 2017, various administrative positions in the French Ministry of Economy (Advisor for Economy to the Prefect of Aquitaine Region then Deputy Regional Director for Economy and Employment in Bordeaux, France). He joined Cdiscount’s strategy department in 2017 and was appointed Head of Strategy in 2018. Appointed Marketplace, International and Strategy Director in 2019, he joined Cdiscount’s Executive committee. Since then, he has been in charge of Cdiscount’s Marketplace development. He launched the B2B marketplace solution project which became our Octopia subsidiary and was appointed CEO of Octopia in 2021.
Silvio J. Genesini was appointed to serve as a replacement director for Yves Desjacques effective December 8, 2014, and was subsequently appointed non-executive director in May 2015. Mr. Genesini acts as one of our independent directors. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Algar, (Brazilian conglomerate with telecom, IT and agribusiness operations), CVC (Brazilian public tourism operator). brMalls (Shopping Malls Operator) and Anima Educação (Private Universities). Mr. Genesini previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Estado from 2009 to 2012, a Brazilian media group, as the managing director of Brazilian operations for Oracle Corporation from 2004 to 2009, and as a partner at Accenture and Andersen Consulting. Mr. Genesini holds a degree in industrial engineering from Universidade de São Paulo.
Bernard Oppetit has served as one of our directors since November 19, 2014. He currently serves as the Chairman of Centaurus Capital Ltd, an asset management firm he created in 2000. Prior to founding Centaurus Capital, Mr. Oppetit held various positions at Paribas (now BNP Paribas). He started at Paribas in 1979, in Information Technology, worked in M&A from 1981 to 1987, joined the Risk Arbitrage Department in 1987, and was appointed global head of Equity Derivatives at Paribas in 1995 and served in this capacity until he resigned in 2000. He has been an independent director and Chairman of the audit committee of Natixis since 2009 and 2010, respectively. Mr. Oppetit is also a director of Centaurus Capital Holdings Limited, Centaurus Global Holding Limited, Centaurus Management Company Limited, Centaurus Capital International Limited and Emolument Ltd. In addition, he is an advisor to Fortress Investment Group. Mr. Oppetit graduated from École Polytechnique in Paris in 1978.
Steven Geers was appointed as the Company’s executive Board member and General Counsel on December 21, 2021. Mr. Geers became the Company’s General Counsel on March 17, 2016, after having worked as Assistant General Counsel from March 1, 2015. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Geers worked as a senior lawyer at General Electric (GE) and practiced law at international law firms in Amsterdam and The Hague in the Netherlands, and New York City, USA. Mr. Geers holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from Groningen University in the Netherlands.
On June 26, 2020 Mrs. Josseline de Clausade was appointed as Non-Executive Director. Since 2012, Mrs. Josseline de Clausade serves as CEO advisor at Casino Group, she manages European and International Affairs for all strategic issues. She was member of the Board of Big C in Vietnam and Thailand, and subsequently as Executive Board member of Exito in Colombia where she currently serves as Board Member of Exito Foundation. Mrs. De Clausade is graduated of Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and of Ecole Nationale d’Administration. She also holds a master degree of Economics from University of Paris-Dauphine. She has served as member of Conseil d’Etat in France. She was appointed as director of cabinet of deputy minister of foreign affairs, then, she served as diplomat at the French Permanent Representation at the European Union in Brussels, serving as Mission Head, responsible for Cultural Affairs and Scientific Cooperation at the Cabinet of Hubert Védrine (Foreign Affairs Minister) and, also as Consul-General of France in Los Angeles – USA. Mrs. Josseline de Clausade is Officer of the Légion d’Honneur
